      Sainte-Mère-Église - a small town in the northwest of France, who gained worldwide fame in 1944 and became the first liberated city of Normandy. The population of Sainte-Mère-Église is about 1,000 people, and its area - 17.83 square kilometers.  

      Among the attractions of the city famous St. Mary's Church, built in the XI century and since 1840 is a historical monument of France, and the Museum of the Air Force, opened in 2009.

      The temple is presented in the Gothic style. Its walls are built of solid natural stone. Severe lancet windows have the shape. True ornament of the church are the stained glass windows on the glass. After the significant events of the Second World War, the church has gained popularity also because during the landing, due to bad weather conditions, one of the soldiers landed right on the spire of the temple. In memory of his landing on the main tower of the shrine was attached parachute and mannequin soldier.
