      Cathedral of Amiens was founded in 1220, 23 years later the tower facade was completed, and after another 285 years, the building has acquired a complete form. Despite such a long period of construction, the style of the cathedral is defined as "pure Gothic." Amiens Cathedral is the most famous building in the Gothic style in the whole of France, and it is the cathedral of the country.

      Facade of the cathedral is decorated with statues of gargoyles and chimeras. During reconstruction of the cathedral had traces of paint on the building now installed colored light that allows you to see the cathedral as it was in the Middle Ages. The inner and outer space of the cathedral divided into three tiers. Preserved mosaic on the floor, part of which is presented in the form of a labyrinth.

      In the cathedral reliquary kept part of the front side of the skull of John the Baptist. Since 1981, the cathedral is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
